Book your spring COVID-19 vaccine now

This is an invitation to get the spring Covid 19 vaccine.

Sometimes Covid 19 is called Coronavirus.

You need this vaccine if:

  • You are 75 years old or older
  • Or if you have a weakened immune system.

This means you have an illness or take medication that means you may get very poorly if you get Covid 19.

If your health has changed and you don’t have a weakened immune system anymore you do not need to get another vaccine.

Why do I need a Covid 19 vaccine this spring

When you get a Covid 19 vaccine it helps to keep you safe but the vaccine stops being so strong over time. This is why it is important to have a vaccine this spring.

If you need any help to book your Covid 19 vaccine, you can ask someone you trust to help you or phone 119.

To book your vaccine on the phone you can phone 119 for free.

If you need someone who speaks a different language, please let us know when you call.

You can also text phone 18001 119 or the NHS British Sign Language interpreter service at www.signvideo.co.uk/nhs119

To book your vaccine online visit www.nhs.uk/book-vaccine

If you are younger than 75 years old, the booking website will ask you if you think you have a weakened immune system.

Answer yes for this question.

To book using the NHS App log in and choose

‘Book or manage a coronavirus (COVID-19) vaccination’.

You can download the app at www.nhs.uk/NHSapp

You could also go to a Covid 19 walk in site. You do not need to book to do this.

To find one near to you go to www.nhs.uk/covid-walk-in

The vaccines are free

You can get Covid 19 vaccines for free if you are:

  • 75 years old or older
  • or if you have a weakened immune system.

You do not need to pay for your vaccine. Ask someone you trust to help you book a free vaccine.

At your appointment

If you are younger than 75 years old, you may need to tell staff about the reason that you need the vaccine.

Please bring one of these to show staff so they know why you need your vaccine:

  • Your medicine box or prescription
  • The NHS App which should have your medication history and your health records.

You may need some help to make your appointment go more smoothly. Tell a member of staff. They can help you.

This is called a reasonable adjustment.

You might need:

  • A longer appointment
  • Someone with you to support you
  • A fidget toy or comforter
  • Someone to give you the vaccine in the car outside.
