Board of Evelina London (part of Guy’s & St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust), Non-Executive Advisors x4

Evelina London Clinical Group brings together the hospital and community services for women and children provided by Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust.  With over 3,500 staff and an annual turnover of £475m, we provide services for the local population in the London boroughs of Lambeth and Southwark and specialist services for children at our Evelina London Children’s Hospital and Brompton Hospital sites, as well as specialist services for women including maternity, gynaecology and assisted conception. Evelina London Clinical Group operates as a distinct part of Guy’s and St Thomas’ with devolved authority and accountability, overseen by an advisory Board.

We are looking to appoint 4 x Non-Executive Advisors to join our Board as we move forward with the next phase of our ambitious transformation plans.

These plans include significant capital development to expand our children’s hospital, moving the region’s very specialist children’s cancer services over to Evelina London, delivering a programme of work to take our maternity services from ‘good’ to ‘outstanding’, growing our community-based initiatives to improve population health for children and young people in the local communities we serve, and optimising our new Electronic Patient Record system which is a major step forward in the Trust’s exciting, organisational wide programme of digital transformation, with huge potential to improve safety and quality.

We are keen to hear from candidates with previous experience of, and affinity with, our core mission of improving the health and lives of women and children, and the following sector specific expertise: paediatric cancer services, women’s health services (maternity and/or gynaecology including assisted conception), clinical academic research in a relevant area, and lived experience of our services. Experience of relevant local and/or national partnerships and networks would be advantageous in light of the context within which we operate.

At Evelina London, we place considerable emphasis on diversity at Board level, and would particularly encourage applications from all representatives of the community, with diverse experience and backgrounds.
