The Paediatric Critical Care and Surgery in Children review identified 5 priority areas for the Paediatric Critical Care Network to focus on, these include:

• Paediatric Intensive Care (Level 3 Paediatric Critical Care)
• Paediatric High Dependency Care (Levels 1 and 2 Paediatric Critical Care)
• Paediatric Critical Care Transport
• Long Term Ventilation
• Paediatric Extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO)

In order to understand local priorities to consider alongside core business and national requirements the network core team held virtual introduction meetings with each regional organisation during June 2020 to September 2020 to further understand what is working well and where there are potential areas for further improvements that could be made across the region.

A plan of work has been developed to address the priority areas and this will be reviewed regularly by the network Board.
